Clift Hotel
The historic Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel is located two blocks from Union Square, and opened its doors in 1915, advertising itself as the first hotel in San Francisco to be fire and earthquake proof. This luxury and boutique hotel is a recognized landmark, and its central location makes it popular with locals and visitors alike.
Giampolini Courtney was tasked with restoring brick, granite, terracotta, and concrete exteriors.

As the hotel remained occupied during the restoration project, we worked closely with management to make sure their guests would not be impacted during construction. Project details include disassembling a large corner made of brick, uncovering steel in the restoration process and ensuring the stabilization of the steel structures.
